A warm bonfire crackles under the moonlit sky as a community of recovering men and women gather in the courtyard to share their experience, strength and hope. Two resident musicians strum guitars and share a recovery ballad they have created for their friends. A mother quietly listens as her daughter recounts what she has learned during her stay at the Herbert House. And two Herbert House alumni, returning to celebrate sobriety milestones, lead the group in the “Reception of New Members,” as new residents are welcomed into the house.
